    2024-25 FAFSA Update

The North Dakota University System (NDUS) has created a flyer regarding the FAFSA updates and changes for your review. The Department of Education was delayed in processing the 2024-25 FAFSA but is now caught up. Students can make corrections and add schools to their FAFSA. North Dakota institutions should have student’s Institutional Student Information Records (ISIRs) by the end of the month at the latest. The institutions need the ISIRs to create a financial aid offer for the student. Please encourage your seniors to be patient; they are not behind, as everyone who has filed the 2024-25 FAFSA has experienced these delays.

    Reminders:

    • Students graduating in May and attending college this fall should complete the 2024-25 FAFSA.
    • Encourage students and parents to go slow and read the questions carefully.
    • Screenshots of the 2024-25 FAFSA can be found here.

    Common FAFSA avoidable errors:

    • Even if students have completed dual credit classes, they should select FIRST YEAR (Freshman).
    • For the question, “When the students begin the 2024-25 school year, will they have their first bachelor’s degree?” the student needs to select NO.

Please contact Alexandria Bauer with NDUS at (701) 328-2964 with questions regarding the FAFSA.
